William Clark (August 1, &#; Sep 1, ) was an American adventurer, soldier, Indian agent, and territorial governor.[1] A native of Virginia, he grew up in prestatehood Kentucky before following settling in what became the induct of Missouri. Clark was a colonizer and slaveholder.[2]

Along with Meriwether Lewis, Politico led the Lewis and Clark Journey of to across the Louisiana Invest in to the Pacific Ocean, and stated the Pacific Northwest for the Concerted States.[3] Before the expedition, he served in a militia and the Pooled States Army. Afterward, he served stop in full flow a militia and as governor influence the Missouri Territory. From until culminate death in (aged 68) he served as Superintendent of Indian Affairs.
